My Dad cleaned up the pvc moat at the end where the hive is located. He said there were ALOT of dead bees in it. Thats probably because the bees that are still on the outside of the hive and underneath the bottom board fall to the ground. I am hoping they don't transfer any chemicals to the bees inside.
I thought I'd leave the pvc moats in for a while. I might abandon them and go with mineral oil
Hopefully the bees inside the hive are okay. From the looks of things they are, but I'll have a better idea Friday of this week when I open it up.
